Hello, everyone, I am Tural Sadigov from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. In this video, we will learn how to download and install R on a Mac computer. We open up one of the browsers, let's say maybe Safari, or Google Chrome, or Firefox, whatever you have on your machine. And we go to the website, cran.r-project.org. It takes us to this main page, which has three links for downloading R for different machines. In one of our videos, we show you step-by-step guide how to download and install R for Windows. But in this video, we will show you downloading R for Mac computers. So we click that link, and it takes us to another page where it has some kind of documentation for R. And it has different versions of R for different versions of your operating system. If you have Operating System 10.9 or higher, then you going to use R-3.3.2. Otherwise, you will choose appropriate R package. We click on this link here, and it automatically starts downloading R to your download folder. It might take a few minutes. It seems that download is complete. If we open up our download folder, we double-click on it. And we say Continue > Continue > Continue. We Agree with the license agreement, we say Install. It asks for administrative password, we enter our password. We say Install Software, and it starts installing R onto your machine. Again, it might take a few minutes to install this onto your machine. [SOUND] Installation was successful. We close this, and we go to our Application folder, and we find our R. It's right here, it's installed. Or we can search for R from the Spotlight Search. We just enter R, it just shows right away. Either from here or from Application folder, we open up R. I strongly recommend you to keep R on your Dock because we will be using R throughout this course. I will say Keep in Dock, and here we go. We have R up and running, and now we can start to do some statistical analysis on R. So what have you learned in this video lecture? You have learned how to download and install R on your Mac computer.
