The following videos cover 3 important mathematical concepts that will be used quite often throughout our course:

• Complex numbers

• Derivatives in three dimensions (including the nabla operator, gradients, curls and divergences)

• Integrals in three dimensions (including path integrals and integrals in spherical coordinates)

If you know what complex numbers are, what the nabla operator is or how you calculate line integrals, you are good to go! You do not have to watch these videos and can continue with the next section.

If you have never even heard about these concepts, I recommend to watch these videos! However, it is not necessary to watch these videos right away. You can always come back here once you encounter something that you do not understand in our lectures. Have fun and get started with the course!
